Reflect, Clean, Move Forward

Recently I was challenged to do some clean up on my social media sites. I was getting bogged down with how to maintain contact with all of these contacts. Over the years, I have accumulated many business acquaintances. I would add them to my page thinking someday we would have a working Continue reading “Reflect, Clean, Move Forward”

The Gate of Heaven, Inc. Work Day

September 9th we were blessed to have a work day hosted by The Point Church from Charlottesville. Thank you to The Point for helping us get ready to open! They took care of the flower beds, created our nature trail, powerwashed house and shed, planted flowers and painted the hallway. The work day was a hugh success! Bucket list completed!

We want to thank Lisa and Corey Williams from Jubilee Family Chiropractic for assisting with the connection with The Point.

The Inn @the Gate is ready to receive all who need a rest from busy life! Matthew 14:23 states, “After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone”. (NIV)

The Inn @the Gate is just such a place for those who need to come to the mountain to pray. Ministry is awaiting you!

What working on puzzles can teach you – Be still

Psalms 46:10

Be still. Know. I am God. Simple words, not so easy to do. What does this really mean? This morning after worship and prayer, I sat down to work on a puzzle. As I sifted through the pieces, I realized this is like therapy to me. It seems like the Lord was using this to speak to my heart. I have had to examine some areas in my life lately. Looking through the pieces, I realized I had to determine what part of the puzzle I was going to focus on. It could get overwhelming if I tried to do it all at once. One area at a time. I was looking for shape and color. He is looking to shape and develop character. One area at a time. Be still. Know. I am God. Sift, look, remove, fit and place. Has God been trying to get your attention about something He would like to sift through, look at, and remove? Once that is complete He can then fit us for the destiny and place He needs us to be.

Through this process the puzzle begins to take shape. I, however, am not the only one working on this particular puzzle. It is a team effort. Though each of us has chosen a different section to work on, we can help each other build on what we have in front of us. Some would call this body ministry in the church. The effort may not be the same. The thought process may not be the same. The end result, the completed puzzle, will look like the box cover. Be still. Know. I am God.

Life’s challenges are like this puzzle. There are complicated colors and shapes. There are the end pieces and pieces that make us wonder if it even belongs in the puzzle. And yet, somehow, it fits into the places we least expected. Be still. Know. I am God.

There are people who come along side of us to help us with the areas we may not be as accomplished in. We may need help in finding the right shape or color. We may need them to help us see things from a different perspective. They could be who God uses to point out a piece that is in the wrong place. Be still. Know. I am God.

We are asked to be still and know that He is God. It doesn’t matter if we are in the key place that fits or on the side waiting to be fitted in, He asks us to be still and know that He is God.

Are you Tired of Waiting? By Cathe Myers

I have to ask the question: are you tired of waiting? Waiting for what you may ask: a fulfillment of a dream, vision or calling. It is not easy in our society today to wait for something. We have to have it all now. I mean right now. It all has to come together just like we thought. After all, that is what we fill ourselves with – instant gratification. I AM of all I AMS

The following article was written by Jonathan Cahn the author of the New York Times bestseller “The Harbinger”. This article is part of a devotional he wrote called the Book of Mysteries: 14 Day Devotional. You can find this devotional on The “YouVersion” Bible App.

I thought this was so profound that it needed to be passed around.

The I Am of All I Ams

It was by the second day that I realized that there would be no set time for the teacher’s coming. He came in the afternoon.

“Do you know the Name of God?” asked the teacher.

“I don’t know that I do.”

“It’s made up of four Hebrew letters, the yud, the heh, the vav, and the hehYHVH. It’s the most sacred of names, so sacred some refuse to say it. And yet you say it all the time.” Continue reading “I AM of all I AMS”
